Our Mission

Protecting the institutions that protect people.

Every institution using AI today faces the same crisis: tools are evolving faster than policy can keep up. Students are submitting AI-generated work with no accountability. Employees are using tools that violate compliance laws their organization was never trained to understand. Healthcare providers are processing patient data through AI systems with no audit trail.

Authorship exists to close that gap. We build the policy infrastructure, enforcement layer, and compliance monitoring every institution needs — without requiring a single new hire or a compliance officer with deep AI expertise.

We are not a detection tool. We are not a software platform. We are your AI Compliance Director — fractional, affordable, and built for your institution's actual obligations.

Our Founder

Built by someone who has lived this problem.

Nils Tracy founded Authorship after watching institution after institution — schools, law firms, healthcare systems, HR departments — struggle with the same impossible situation: AI tools are everywhere, the regulations are arriving fast, and nobody has the expertise, the time, or the budget to build a real compliance infrastructure.

Nils has spent years at the intersection of AI technology and institutional policy. He has testified alongside Meta's policy team, presented at Capitol Hill on AI wearables and governance, joined the Privacy + Security Academy Spring 2026 Forum alongside panelists from Meta and the Future of Privacy Forum, and been cited in the Washington Post AI Tech Brief.

His background is not just technology. It is the full picture — how AI tools work, what regulations require, how institutions actually operate, and what it takes to build a compliance infrastructure that survives real-world use without requiring a team of lawyers.

Authorship is the solution he could not find anywhere else, so he built it.

Why Authorship

The only platform built to enforce compliance — not just detect it.

🛡️
Infrastructure-Level Governance
Authorship spans on-device and cloud deployments, delivering compliance at the infrastructure level — not just surface detection. We enforce policy across edge and cloud environments simultaneously.
Built for Non-Technical Leaders
CISOs, principals, HR directors, and general counsel do not need deep AI expertise to stay compliant with Authorship. We convert complex regulations into enforceable policies your team can understand and deploy.
🔄
Always Current
AI regulation changes monthly. Authorship continuously adapts your governance to the latest regulatory and technological changes, so your controls stay ahead as your AI stack evolves — automatically.
📋
Custom Policy, Not Templates
Every institution gets a policy built for their actual obligations — their laws, their users, their tools, their risk profile. Not a boilerplate. Not a template. Your policy, enforced.
🔍
Evidence Trails
Full audit trail of every AI interaction, prompt, model, and output across your organization. Board-ready reports generated automatically. Every interaction tracked, logged, and defensible.
💰
Fraction of the Cost
A full-time AI Compliance Director costs $150K–$250K per year. Authorship delivers the same protection and expertise at a fraction of that cost, built specifically for your institution's size and sector.
